Process Signature for Laser Hardening

چکیده

During many manufacturing processes for surface treatment of steel components heat will be exchanged between the environment and workpiece. The exchange commonly leads to temperature gradients within near area workpiece, which involve mechanical strains inside material. If corresponding stresses exceed locally yield strength material residual can remain after process. increase is high enough additionally phase transformation austenite occurs may lead further on due a fast cooling very hard martensite. This investigation focuses correlation concrete thermal loads such as resulting modifications changes stress, microstructure, hardness respectively. Within this consideration are causes called internal loads. correlations generated Process Signature. idea that Signatures provide possibility engineer workpiece layer its functional properties in knowledge-based way. contribution presents some Signature thermally dominated process with transformation: laser hardening. target quantities change stress state at position 1st zero-crossing curve. Thermal Analysis of Laser Hardening for Different Moving Patterns

Transient thermal field in laser surface hardening treatment of medium carbon steel was analyzed by employing both three-dimensional analytical model and finite element model. In finite element model the laser beam was considered as a moving plane heat flux to establish the temperature rise distribution in the work-piece, while in analytical model laser beam was considered as an internal heat s...

Optimal control of laser hardening

We present a mathematical model for the laser surface hardening of steel. It consists of a nonlinear heat equation coupled with a system of ve ordinary diierential equations to describe the volume fractions of the occuring phases. Existence, regularity and stability results are discussed. Since the resulting hardness can be estimated by the volume fraction of martens-ite, we formulate the probl...

Signature submanifolds for some equivalence problems

This article concerned on the study of signature submanifolds for curves under Lie group actions SE(2), SA(2) and for surfaces under SE(3). Signature submanifold is a regular submanifold which its coordinate components are differential invariants of an associated manifold under Lie group action, and therefore signature submanifold is a key for solving equivalence problems.

A rapid cold-hardening process in insects.

Traditionally studies of cold tolerance in insects have focused on seasonal adaptations related to overwintering that are observed after weeks or months of exposure to low temperature. In contrast, an extremely rapid cold-hardening response was observed in nonoverwintering stages that confers protection against injury due to cold shock at temperatures above the supercooling point. This response...

On the Optimal Control Problem of Laser Surface Hardening

We discuss an optimal control problem of laser surface hardening of steel which is governed by a dynamical system consisting of a semilinear parabolic equation and an ordinary differential equation with a non differentiable right hand side function f+. To avoid the numerical and analytic difficulties posed by f+, it is regularized using a monotone Heaviside function and the regularized problem ...
